Home at last!

Today was the last day of lessons at school. Should have been Monday but teacher was off sick. Left at 12.30 to go to Lemvig to do some shopping.Most important was a visit to a shop which is usually in a small village not far from here - but only opened on Saturdays. They close tomorrow  (to make room for an exhibition of paintings) so had to be quick.

Unfortunately they didn't open until 2 pm. so I had to think of something to do for ½ hour after I had done most of my shopping.

But it was worth it! I had to have a cafe au lait bowl that I'd seen in her window at the regular shop about a month ago. As it was still "available" I decided that that must mean that I had to have it. :-) Also bougth two jam jars and a small metal tray. And I was told that they are going to have a permanent store in town. 

These I bought last year. A find - only paid 15 Dkr.  a piece. And I looove the colour of the lids.

Scholastic day :-)

Sounds way more highbrow than it really is. But today I really got started writing my exam paper for art. This only has to be a short paper of 5 pages max. And today I wrote a little more than 2 pages so I'm very pleased with myself.

So this is were I've spent much of my time today. Without head phones!  ;-)

Yesterday turned out very differently than expected. Our teacher was ill so we didn't have any lessons. I tried to find something sensible to do but that turned out to be rather difficult. Either I needed things that were at home or I couldn't find a computer that worked.

Later on I went to the meeting in the sewing group. Lovely food as always but not that much to be inspired by. Only one had something to show - a sort of cushion for a deck chair - apart from me. And I already know my things . ;-)

Brougth along this one which I am less than pleased with. It's incredably askew and non-alingned (if that's a word)

I'm not sure I'll ever finish it. BTW the picture is deliberately upside down - since I discovered that the top is upside down on the picture.

As you can easily tell some of the squares are less than square - especially those in the lower left hand corner. I blame the linen. It's a lot more "lively" than ordinary cotton fabric but this is of a very finely woven texture and I have used it a lot without that much trouble.

Off to do some shopping. Tonight there's another meeting in another quilt group. This time at my place. We're going to talk a bit about our trip to Gothenburg for the triennial meeting of the NQT in May. 

Oh I'm so proud! :-)

New week

Did a lot of work on the layout and design of the site yesterday. Looks rather nice now I think but can't figure out how to add all kinds of icons...
Today I have the last ever lessons at school. Odd thought that this which has been my everyday for almost 5 years, is soon over. I will miss it.

Recently I did this prototype of a messenger bag. Would like to make one some day using Anna Maria Horner's Drawing Room fabric. This bag turned out fine I think but I have to make some alterations to it if I am going to use that particular fabric as the prints are pretty big.
Off to get ready. Tonight there's a meeting in one of the sewing groups I belong to. Won't be going home before I go to that since tonight's hostess lives in the same place as my school and my lessons don't end until 3.40 pm.

This is from our kitchen. I collect old things. Have done so since I was a teenager way back in the 70s. Most of the things here are some that I've bought in recent years though. Last August I went to Paris with my friend Dawn and we went to a flea market where I bought the old tin - that contained some dried leaves of some sort. And the doggie brooch was also one that I found there.

We've had particularly nice weather for the past two weeks - this was taken on April 17th. The window sill in our dining room. Geraniums are my favourite flowers.

Time for reading other people's blogs. Listening to Revelry by The Kings of Leon while Daugther is hoovering!

I'm back - again. I think

It does feel silly writing the same over and over but this time I hope to post a bit more frequently.
